Disappointed Love

Expectations fill my night and day dreams.
Surely reality is not what it seems.

Disappointed that the phone doesn't ring
Only his caring voice can make my heart sing.

Disappointed there's no knock at the door
Emptiness beyond cuts right through to my core.

Disappointed that I sit here as one
Snuggling with another is much greater fun.

Disappointed by the hungering pangs
The loss of love forever on my mind hangs.

Disappointed anew by a lover
The tears yet again menacingly hover.

Disappointed over being estranged
My beating heart rides upon the winds of change.

Disappointments fill my days and twilights.
Clearly desolation is my woeful plight.
