I Give Thanks
I cannot pretend to make you understand
How much I've to be thankful for this holiday
But of course I'll try with pen in hand
To get the message across to you another way.
I give thanks...
to the world wide internet
for the extended family that I've now met.
I give thanks...
to the non-domesticated breed o' canine
for the descendant dogs that are presently mine.
I give thanks...
to the hand in the heavenly sky
for wipin' away the tears each time that I cry.
I give thanks...
to my ancestors o' generations ago
for the cherished kinfolk upon me they did bestow.
I give thanks...
to the strangers sent from up above
for fillin' even my darkest hour with unconditional love.
I give thanks...
to the ball o' fire as it arises each day
for givin' me the burnin' desire to survive come what may.
I hope this somehow helped you to understand
How much I've to be thankful for this holiday
And now I must again gather my pen in my hand
To get the message across to you in yet another way.
