I love loving you, my dear friend
But what we share must now come to an end.

And before I say goodbye, Steve
Here's something I do want you to believe:
I'm all alone with love to give
Now without you in my life I must live.
Though my spirit runs far away
You're eternally in my heart to stay.
I could have loved you forever
I wonder now, would you love me never.
I can't have you or so it seems
So I'll just plant you deep into my dreams,
As I dry the tears that I cry
And whisper to you my saddest goodbye.

For what we shared must now come to an end
