Gaze beyond the mountain
Stretched out for all to see
A silent band of steeples
Reach above the still city.

Early morning dew
Clinging to the air
Gentle whisper of leaves
Enfold those gathered here.

As the hour passes
Chill in the air recedes
Family, friends, and strangers
Have climbed atop to see.

The mighty treetops tower
Over those in wait below
As pastor begins to speak
The branches spread to and fro.

Make way for a burst of sunshine
On Which our souls shall feed
Easter morning sunrise
He is risen indeed!
