Into the rising o’ the sun.
Shall we chat a bit
As we’ve quite often done?

As we stroll along in the wood.
I heed the gift o’ thy words
Just as a dutiful child should.


Dash with me Daddy,
Here in the light o’ the sun.
Shall we race along this path
Have us a wee bit o’ fun?

Thrash with me Daddy,
The clay ‘neath the hie of our feet.
I scurry forth upon the trail
Your hand at the finish I long to meet.


Stay with me Daddy,
Til the promised setting o’ the sun.
Shall we rekindle memories
Of when our time was first begun?

Pray with me Daddy,
Here amidst the beauty I so adore.
I bow before the brilliance
Obedient to thy spirit forevermore.

In the disappearance o’ the sun.
Shall we have another chat
As we have so often done?

Here in the darkening o’ the wood.
I’ll heed the gift o’ thy words
Just as a dutiful child surely should.
