You flit and you flutter
In and out o’ my world,
A quake and a quiver
Wings o’ friendship unfurled.

With feathers as your fins
You sail in rapid descent,
Berthing on a river o’ green
Now exhausted and spent.

On the leaves o’ the tree
A bit tattered and torn,
You find a safe haven
For one weary and forlorn.

Upon a glistening tear
You may slip and may slide,
But on the wings o’ friendship
To the top you shall glide.
