I never met you face-to-face,
Yet I feel I should know you well.
For I have seen, by God's good grace,
In your grandson's spirit you dwell.
I have this young man as a friend,
There for me in my time o' need.
Lessons he's learned, to me he lends,
Provin' he's born o' special breed.
I sense you lived a life o' good,
The days you spent here on this earth.
The test o' time, the trials withstood,
Reveal your value 'n' your worth.
I know you taught your children right,
As final days weren't spent alone.
'Twas your daughter's son, a white knight,
With you when a dove flew you home.
I shall adjoin you face-to-face,
Then I shall come to know you well.
For I believe, by God's good grace,
'Tis in Heaven our souls shall dwell.

I lived long enough,
To face many good-byes,
It grew easier,
With the passing of years.
I cherished each moment,
All the good times we had,
Forgave easily,
Wiped away many tears.
I lived long enough,
To appreciate a smile,
Wish on stars,
Then follow the light.
I offered comfort to many,
Along with tight hugs,
Slept peacefully,
Prayed for us each night.
I lived long enough,
To know that someday,
As planned,
This life would end.
I freely gave of my love,
Showed you my love,
Unconditionally,
Over and over again.
I lived long enough,
To know I'll live on in you,
With each beat of your heart,
In everything you do.
