Christmas has come ‘n’ gone once again,
Down thru the chimney it joyously came.
Now many sigh a not so heavenly "Amen!"
Commercialism, not Santa, to blame.

Soon out with the snow ‘n’ in with the rain
In a flurry o’ blossoms spring shall arrive.
But each of us has many a blessing to attain
In aspiring to keep the spirit o’ Christmas alive.

For one who would give rather than receive
A gift that dries the cheek stained with a tear,
Wrapped in warmth upon a midsummer eve
Lies a heart abundant in charity ‘n’ cheer.

Spirit o’ Christmas sent like snow from above
Alights softly upon the hearts o’ the ill at ease.
Tis a gift meant to bedeck our lives with love
In the season when the leaves fall from the trees.

Resolve this year as you sing Auld Lang Syne
To honor not only the memories o’ the past.
On this day o’ rebirth o’ this new year divine
Avow "Amen!" to make the good things last.
