Spring 2006

For our newest challenge,
write what Springtime means to you
in any form that you choose to use.

The first line must contain the words:
spring, flowers, hope.
Somewhere in the piece these words should be used:
birds, youth, season, lovers, yesterday.

Spring is my favourite time of the year.

I love it when the flowers start breaking through
the thawing ground and it gives me new hope for the future.

Birds chirping is one of my favourite sounds
that I never get tired of hearing
so I'm a person you wouldn't find living in the city.
I believe it helps me keep
my youthful spirit to be close to nature.
Something I prefer all year round.

However, spring is, after all,
the season for lovers and to forget about
the bad of yesterday and although it is now autumn here
I have spring in my heart.

March 2006

Take these words and be creative.
Turn them into a story,
a poem or even a puzzle...

Leprechaun
Green beer
Blarney stone
Gold
Shamrock
Music

All words must be used in your endeavor!

Being Swedish as I am
I unfortunately don't know much about the Irish and their traditions.
Only lately have I learned about a little green elf
called the Leprechaun and I have been told he's quite mischievous.
Green beer to me sounds pretty yukky just by imagining it but
then so did garlic beer before I tried it.

Come and kiss the Blarney stone
and you will gain skills in flattery the legend says.
So where whould I find this precious ston?
Well according to the story it is in a castle in Ireland.
Guess I have to go there one day and see for myself.

Gold I know can be found at the end of the rainbow
and the way I feel right now about my precious little gift
I must have been there and found it.
Or was it maybe a shamrock that brought me
this incredible luck,
she thinks as she listens to the beautiful music
the wind makes in the trees outside.
