The birds are chirpin' a sunny song to all the world
O'er the birth o' Jesus Christ, God's own bundle o' joy.
The tale as foretold in the Bible is now unfurled,
In the arms o' Mother Mary lay the baby boy.

Earthly Father Joseph stands proud, as all papas are,
In readiness to raise the sacred babe o' Heaven.
'Neath the brightest o' light, that o' the Dipper's North Star,
The Spirit o' Christmas on our hearts is engraven.

The birds, they sing a sunny song o' joy to the world,
The tune high-spirited with merriment and with glee.
May all join together as Christmastime is unfurled,
Celebrate the birth o' Christ, in perfect harmony.
